In this post, I would like to present what junk is and the use of junk in real life context. As I know, Junk is not a kind of proper noun. We can only find this word in some contexts like informal condition. I choose this word because I do not know much what junk is. I just can find junk in two dictions; there are junk food and junk mail. When I hear junk, it does not seem like trash. It doesn’t have any disgusting or smell senses likes trash. So, I want to discuss it with some review about junk. Actually, my focus is the use of Junk in Junk Food diction. Why it is common to say Junk in food diction? Doesn’t seem disgusting?
Junk \ˈjəŋk\ is an old or unwanted object that has no use or value. In the middle of 14th century, the thing that has been useless is still called worthless stuff. Besides that, Old French had found Junke as old cable or rope and Latin also had found Juncus as rush. In 1842, Junk was started to use by Nautical for old refuse from boats and ships. Then, the meaning of Junk had been used for old or discarded articles of any kind in 1884. The verb meaning “to throw away as trash, to scrap” is junk starting form 1916. Junk has some synonymy’s words like trash, garbage, rush, litter and so on. Junk does not always used for useless or refused thing. If I look at the dictionary, I just can find some dictions form junk; there are junk food, junk mail and junk bond. From the dictions, I start to conclude that Junk actually is not same with trash. It does not have the sense of disgusting or smell. It also does not seem like the useless or refuse things. Why I said like that? Junk food is eaten by everyone and it is expensive. Junk mail is letters, especially advertisements, which are sent by organizations to large numbers of people and used to show disapproval. It shows a refusing but does not seem disgusting or smell. Junk bond is a high-risk bond that offers a high yield. It is a kind of job that has high yield even high risk also but it does not have useless sense. So, Junk is not same with trash, rubbish, garbage or rush. Now, I want to discuss one of the junk using in real life context. It is Junk Food.
Junk food is food that is not good for your health because it contents high amount of fat or sugar. For other word, junk food is food that has no value to eat. We usually call it fast food. The food is cooked in a few minutes in 180-200o C. Typically, the term refers to food sold in a restaurant or store with preheated or precooked ingredients, and served to the customer in a packaged form for take-out or take-away. Sometimes people are confused whether junk food and fast food is same or not. If we look at in dictionary, Junk is an informal word. It means that we have more politeness to say fast food rather than junk food.
As I write before, Junk is useless or refuses things but it does not apply in this diction. I had observed about the uses of Junk in terms of junk food. I started to ask “Do you like eating Junk Food?” to 10 people. Most of them said yes but it is not a habitual action. It is because they know that junk food is expensive and not good for their health, but it is still delicious. They only know that junk food is same with fast food. Then, I continued with second question. “If the word “junk” is changed by “trash”, do you feel good to eat it?” They said no. Some of them said that trash has more disgusting sense than junk. They imagine that the food is a kind of trash. They would not like to eat that.
From the example above, I analyze that the relation between synonymy and diction (syntactical and semantic arrangement of words) sometimes broke the sense. In this case, trash could not replace the word junk. Trash gives more disgusting sense than junk. Junk and Trash has different quaintifiers; means that if we imagine those words, they capture as different things. Trash will capture a disgusting and smell thing, while junk is realted to fppd and mail. Even trash is synonymy with junk; they have different sense when we put in sentences. Trash and Junk are also informal word in explaining something useless or poor quality.
I can conclude that junk is a word that can make something more valuable. As in semantics lesson, I learned about what happen if two words are fight, means that they are crash. One word may be ignored or changed, for example the word sky and heaven. Heaven was used to a word that identifies sky or something outside the earth. But, when the word sky was appeared, the meaning of heaven was changed. It is became something more religion. I do not know yet whether the junk and trash are fight or not. The important thing is junk does not represent trash. It is more valuable than trash. I think it also apply for junk mail and junk bond. Those have meaning something high and valuable than if we changed that into trash.

Vocabulary  is the set of words they are familiar with in a language. Usually, vocabulary is called collection of words. We can find it in the dictionary. But, sometimes we find the difficulties in teaching vocabulary, especially new vocabulary. I have a video which I downloaded from youtube, which explains how teach vocabulary. So, teaching new words with read, translated, and memorized is dull approach. 
We have to visualize the words with pictures or something else. Student can also look at; meaning, shape, pronounciation, sound and utility.

My learning situation picture describes how I interpret the learning itself with making a picture track. The picture track tells us about what happen with the learning and also the tools and people who related in the learning process. The first picture is ME as an important element in the learning process. After that, I drew the tools, people and places which are helping me in the learning process. The last picture means that the learning process makes me understand and knowing what I don’t know before.



My picture belongs to co-construction model of learning. The model concerned with the learner’s construction of meaning through interaction and collaboration with others, especially through the dialogue. Why? Because, in my picture I see that the learning process is not only receive material from the teacher but also through discussion. It is proven by the picture which saw the people who are talking each other.
Why we have to learn the models of learning? As an effective teacher, we have to prepare what the strategies of learning will be in the classroom. From the models, we can find the alternative ways if we failed in one method or we can combine it in order to make an effective teaching. It also represents our expectation about the learning itself.

Hai Kaum Muda yang semangatnya berapi-api !!!
Sebagai generasi muda yang cerdas, tentu kita tahu bahwa kita harus memiliki pendidikan yang tinggi.
Belajar bukan hanya di sekolah, tetapi juga di luar sekolah. Hanya saja, kita lebih sering menghabiskan waktu kita di sekolah.

Nah, sejauh mana sih pendidikan mempengaruhi kehidupan kita ?
Apa yang kita dapat selama belajar di sekolah ?
Apakah hanya nilai-nilai dan angka-angka ?

Dari sejarahnya, Indonesia merupakan negara dengan anak-anak pintar dan banyak tokoh-tokoh yang terkenal di dunia contohnya Bung Karno, Sri Mulyani dan masih banyak lagi. Pada zaman dahulu, banyak orang-orang dari negara tetangga  belajar di Indonesia.Selain SDA yang melimpah, Indonesia juga memiliki SDM yang berkualitas. Tapi, apakah zaman sekarang masih sama seperti itu?

Nah, sekarang kita buktiin ke mereka bahwa sekarang waktunya Yang Muda Yang Berprestasi. Sudah banyak kok contohnya.

We don't try to push you choose which the best one. But, you can know what effective teaching actually in classroom is. From that video, we can conclude that effective teaching will happen when : 
  1. Teacher give clear to do the task. 
  2. Teacher used variability and flexiblelity of delivering material.
  3. Teacher can make the student feel entusiastic
As a teacher, we have to consider the understanding of student in learning because each student has different style and capability to receive the lesson. So, make sure that they are really understand the material. How ? Look at their face! Are they look smile? or they sleepy ?

Ok, do you get the idea ?

I have observed in SMAN 12. The school uses the moving class system in their learning process. My friend and I focus on the first grade senior high school. Every class consists of at least 40 students. The technology in the school is convenient for the high school students likes Computer Laboratory, Internet Access free (WIFI), School Radio Channel, Language Laboratory, Audio and Visual room, and communication tools.
Technology that is used in SMAN 12 is mostly the new or digital technology but they are still using whiteboard in classroom. There is no one digital technology in every class but if they want to use the computer or internet access in learning activity, they can go to Audio and Visual room. In that room, the school provides one controlled computer, sound systems and LCD. If they want to go online in supporting the learning process, they can go to computer laboratory. In computer laboratory, there are computer and internet access for each student and also free hotspot in the school area.
Since two weeks observed, my friend and I did not observe our master teacher in teaching process. She asked us to teach since the second day we are there. So, I will assess our teaching process in classroom.
We almost did not use the digital media in teaching process, except the last day. In the last day, we taught them narrative text in Audio and Visual room because we need computer access and it is not available in the classroom. We used computer and LCD to play a game board. We showed the board in front of the class with LCD.
If I were a teacher in SMAN 12, I will optimize the using of technology. I can bring the students to Language Laboratory to practice their listening, reading and speaking from a song, film or video. The other activity is “go online”. Because my focus is Language Teaching, I will ask them to find some English articles from the internet in Computer Laboratory and then they have to find difficult words and phrases. That activity can give them some additional vocabularies or idioms. I also want to allow them to go online and getting some chats with foreigners in social networking. If they chat with Skype, they also can talk each other directly. As we know, the high school students are usually shy with their English. So, this activity can provide them a practice of their confidences and fluently in writing or speaking English. Even I try to use the technology optimally. I have to focus on my goals. The students have to get the main point or the concept of my teaching and they can practice it in the real life. So, I think that all activities only can practice one or two times in a month but they still can do that all in their home.
